In this text a wife accepts the punishment for her husband which seemingly consists of not being allowed to attend the service and feast for the saint Ananias, until the dues are paid.
Lines 5–10 read as follows:
ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉϥϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲛϥⲃⲓ ⲛ̣ⲁ̣ ϣⲁϥⲃⲓ ⲛⲁⲁ ⲡⲓ̣ ⲧ̣ⲉ̣ⲛ̣ⲓ̣ⲟⲛ ϩ̣ⲣ̣ⲁⲓ ⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲧⲛ <ⲧⲛ>ⲥⲱϣⲧ <ⲙ>ⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲕⲁⲗⲏⲗⲁ
ⲛⲁⲡⲁ ⲁⲛⲁⲛⲓⲁⲥ ϣⲁⲛⲧϥϯ ⲛϣⲟϥⲧ ⲙⲙⲏⲛⲁ
'His wife said: "He will be strong and bear these. He accepts mercy …?. Straight away, we stop (attending?) the feast and the service for Apa Ananias, until he gives a handful to Menas.'
(Text: A. Erman and W. E. Crum, trans. G. Schenke)
