Greek version of the Martyrdom of Shirin (BHG 1637)

We have not examined this text, nor compared it to stories of the martyrdom in other languages. It is a translation dated around 593-609, based on a Martyrdom originally written in Syriac in the reign of Khosrau I of Sassanid Persia (between 559 and 579), but the original is not extant.

Note that translations of hagiographical literature into other ancient languages are not as a rule recorded in the Cult of Saints database, unless there is evidence to suggest that the translation dates from the 7th century or earlier.
