'Furthermore, I shall not allow NARCISSUS of blessed memory – at once enriched with the prerogative of virginal purity and adorned with the authority of episcopal insignia – to lurk in the recesses of silence; (Narcissus), whose life was distinguished with signs and resplendent portents of miracles to such an extent that, relying on the armament of his prayers, contrary to the nature of things he converted the quality of the liquid element – mutable to God alone – into another form [...]'
