Extitit quidam pontificali dignitate decoratus merito Felix et nomine, qui cum pro fidei constantia a tortoribus torqueretur et horrendis carnificum cruciatibus agonizans martirizaretur, exclamasse fertur: Gratias tibi ago, Christe; L et VI annos in saeculo virginitatem meam servavi.
'There was a certain man graced with episcopal authority who was deservedly called FELIX, who, when for the constancy of his faith he was tortured by torturers and agonizingly martyred by the horrendous torments of his executioners, is said to have claimed: "I give thanks to you, oh Christ: I have kept my virginity in this world for 56 years."'
