Extract from a long letter dealing with possible abuses in this monastery:
Quod cum paene omnibus notum sit, in magna nos Gauiniae abbatissae monasterii sanctorum Gauini atque Luxurii insinuatio admiratione perduxit.
‘Although this is known to almost everyone, the report by Gavinia, abbess of the monastery of Saints Gavinus and Luxorius, has caused us great astonishment.’
