E06144: End of a Greek letter of unknown Egyptian provenance, mentioning a pilgrimage to *Phoibammon (presumably the soldier and martyr, S00080) accompanied by an *Amonia (S02300); datable to the 6th century.

The sender of the letter refers to his upcoming boat trip to the place of saint Phoibammon bringing with him either a female living saint or an icon.

Lines 1–4 of the remains of the letter read as follows:

καταξίωσον δὲ δέσποτα εὔξασθαι
ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ ἐπειδὴ καταπλεῦσαι ἔχω
εἰς τὰ τοῦ ἁγίου ἄπα Φοιβάμμωνος μετὰ τῆς
κυρ\ί/ας μου τῆς ἁγίας Ἀμωνίας.

'Please my lord, pray for me as I am sailing down to the place of the holy Apa Phoibammon together with my lady, saint Amonia.'
