A receipt acknowledging the delivery of an agreed amount of wheat is issued to a farmer who has been working the land belonging to a confraternity dedicated to Theodore. The receipt is issued by a representative of the juridical body (dikaion) of the confraternity, likewise named Theodore.

I have received and have been paid by you for the tribute from the measure of [land] which you are cultivating for us, which is four artabas of wheat, [with one] oipe [measure] for this same confraternity, [in this year] of the 12th indiction. For your security [then, I have drawn up] this receipt for you. I, Theodore, agree to this receipt as [it is written. I,] Sarapion, the most humble deacon, [I agree to this receipt] and act [as witness].'
