The letter was written by a representative of the monastery of Apa Apollo to a representative of a village.
Line 4 reads as follows:

ⲁⲡⲁ ⲁⲡⲟⲗⲗⲱ ⲉⲃⲁ̣ⲣⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛⲉ ⲡⲛⲟϭ [ϣⲁ ⲡⲕⲟⲩⲓ

‘Apa Apollo, may he watch over you from the greatest [to the smallest.’
