‘Today is rightly considered St. Andrew’s birthday. He did not come to birth from his mother’s womb today, but we recognize that through the conception of faith and the childbirth of martyrdom he was brought into heavenly glory.’
The sermon continues, praising Andrew, briefly referring to his deeds and way of death, and noting that he is second to only Peter in dignity.
Text: Olivar 1982, 815-816. Translation: Ganss 1953, 219-220.
