P.Oxy. 16 1934

This letter gives an extract from a receipt issued by a village scribe to the oikonomos of Kollouthos, and states that the scribe had omitted in his account the corn specified in the receipt; the recipient of the letter is therefore requested to send him to be interrogated.

Lines 4–5 read as follows:

π(αρὰ) Φοιβάμμωνος πρεσβ(υτέρου)
(καὶ) οἰκ(ονόμου) τοῦ ἁγ(ίου) Κολλούθου

'… (received) from Phoibammon, presbyter and oikonomos of saint Kollouthos …'

(Summary and text: B. P. Grenfell, A. S. Hunt, and H. I. Bell, trans.: G. Schenke)
