John, the deacon and oikonomos (steward) of the church of Thekla, issues this receipt to the heirs of Flavius Apion for the amount of four artabas of wheat. The text ends as follows:

τῆς ἁγίας Θ[έ]κλας υἱὸς τοῦ
μακαρίου Π̣έτρος ἀπὸ τῆς
αὐτῆς πόλεως. ὁμολογῶ
εἰληφαίναι καὶ πεπληρῶσθ(αι)
παρὰ τῆς ὑμῶν ὑπερφυείας

τὴν ἁγίαν προσφορὰν τῆς
σὺν Θεῷ ἕκτης ἐπινεμήσεω\ς/,
τουτέστιν σίτου καγκέλ(λῳ)
ἀρτάβας τέσσαρα

'I, John, deacon and steward of (the church of) Saint Thekla, son of the blessed Petros from the same city (of Oxyrhynchos), I acknowledge to have received and been paid from your excellence the holy donation of the, God willing, sixth indiction, that is four artabas of wheat by cancellus measure.'

† ἀπόδειξ(ις) τοῦ εὐλαβ(εστάτου) Ἰωάννου διακ(όνου) οἰκ(ονόμου) τῆς ἁγί(ας) Θέκλας σί(του) κ(αγκέλλῳ) (ἀρταβῶν) δ.

'Receipt of the most pious John, deacon (and) steward of (the church of) Saint Thekla, for 4 artabas of wheat by cancellus measure.'
