The two heads of the monastery of Epiphanios on the mountain of Jeme, Jacob, son of David, and Elias, son of Samuel, name as their successor the monk Stephanos to be the future head of the monastery.

The boundaries of the monastery are given in lines 16–19 and 67–69 as:

ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡϩⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲫⲟⲓⲃⲁⲙⲙⲱⲛ ϣⲁ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲃⲏⲃ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲩⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲡⲁ

Discussion

Whether these two men mentioned, whose 'cave' might have been their former dwelling place in life, are just generally remembered as well-known former monks or have in the meantime indeed become venerated saints, remains unclear.
